Sneak Peek! – New Disney Store in Santa Clara

Untitled

First things first, I have been a big Disney fan since childhood and love the stories and magic and that enthusiasm gets passed down to my nieces and nephews. One of my favorite memories is seeing my nephew’s face light up the first time he saw Mickey Mouse “in person.”

When I worked in San Francisco’s Union Square, a quick trip to the Disney Store would brighten my day. I love the immersive feel and the admire the attention paid to all the tiny details that made the place magical. So when I was invited to get a sneak peek inside the new Disney Store in the Santa Clara Valley Fair mall, I jumped at the chance.

The interactive details amazed me:

Little ones can help turn the mobile and watch plush Mickeys, Donalds, Daisys and Minnies circle above.

Disney Store Theater Area

They’ve designed the central theater area so guests can use a touch screen to choose from over 50 video clips, music videos, movie trailers to display on the large screen.

If there’s a birthday coming up – just ask one of the Cast Members to help you out and they will put together a special message for the birthday boy or girl of any age.

And there’s an extra special show – that includes fireworks in the trees!

The Grand Opening of the Westfield Valley Fair Mall Disney Store will be this Saturday. Head on down and the Disney Store will donate 10 percent of the the grand opening day’s sales to the Make-a-Wish foundation.

And if you’re there between 12 pm and 4 pm you will see that Mickey and Minnie have come all the way from Disneyland to celebrate the opening. This could be a chance for you to share that magical moment in a child’s life when she see’s Mickey Mouse for the first time.

Remembering the good stuff: 2011 – the travels

spacerangers

We may not have traveled far this year but we had a Blast! As a life-long Disney fan, a trip is always a welcome vacation. Little trips down the coast for amusement were perfect for us. A trip to lego land has been on my list for a long time. And our timing couldn’t have been better – the new Star Wars section had just opened.

Legoland Hoth Imperial Walkers

I got to feed giraffes and rhinos – something I never imagined I would do. If you’re ever in the San Diego area, the Safari Park is a must.

Travel Photo Friday : Girls Getaway Weekend with Sangria

End of Summer Sangria

We get the most Summer-like weather in the late days of August and early Fall. A quick getaway weekend with friends only takes a couple hours drive (just enough to feel like a vacation) to “The Delta.”

Recipe for the perfect getaway:
The hospitality and company of wonderful friends,
good food,
knitting,
mixed it up with a fantastic sangria recipe.

and Enjoy!
